  • When Lacey Billings gives her boyfriend, Ran, an erotic wake-up call in the middle of the night, she's shocked to discover that the gorgeous man she's kissing isn't Ran...it's his cousin, Rick.
Although Ran laughs off the mix-up, Lacey and Rick can't stop thinking about the unexpected encounter, and they can't escape the scorching flashbacks it's aroused.
Ran doesn't want an innocent mistake to ruin his relationship with his girlfriend or his cousin, so he proposes a solution. He wants the three of them to solve this problem the old-fashioned way, by sleeping on it...together.
    17,000 words

The Best Mistake was a short erotic story that packed a powerful punch.

Coming home after a late flight, Lacey has missed her boyfriend, Ran, and can’t help but want to catch up on lost time. She crawls into bed to show just how much she missed him but soon discovers he isn’t her boyfriend, but his cousin, Rick.

Ran laughed the story off but neither Lacey nor Ran can do the same. All they do is think back and linger on what might have been. Ran doesn’t want to put either relationship at risk so what he proposes will either push them all apart, or bring them all firmly together.

All the characters were well developed in this story and all three main characters are likeable with something for everyone. While this was a very short story, it was well written and delivered. Fans of the genre will love this.

Book Review: All I Want is You by Sherrill Bodine

  • Mass Market Paperback: 336 pages
  • Publisher: Forever; Original edition (9 Feb 2012)
  • Language English
  • ISBN-10: 0446584355
  • ISBN-13: 978-0446584357
  • SHE'S STEALING HIS HEART . . .

Vintage boutique owner Venus Smith is stunned to realize her newest acquisition comes with a larcenous legend. Stolen years ago, the antique mermaid brooch belongs to the Clayworth family. The right thing to do would be to return it, but that means facing Connor Clayworth O'Flynn, the sexy department store heir Venus has had an unrequited crush on since childhood-and the man who helped ruin her father.

    ONE KISS AT A TIME

Connor knows that Venus has never forgiven him for what happened between their families. But business isn't personal, even though Venus's father's betrayal still cuts him like a knife. So when Venus proposes a deal-she'll return his family's brooch if he helps clear her father's name-he reluctantly agrees. As action-packed days turn into flirtatious fall nights, it isn't long before old memories resurface . . . and new desires ignite. Can two young lovers leave the past behind? Or must they first admit that all they've ever really wanted . . . is each other?

All I Want Is You was an intriguing romantic read. Full of mystery and charged atmosphere, it made for a very enjoyable read.

Venus has been at war with Connor all her life, and things aren’t any sweeter between them when he ruined her father’s reputation. But then a brooch that has been missing for years brings the pair together and they form an unlikely alliance.

I loved the banter between Connor and Venus and as they slowly fell for each other, giving in to the flirtation.

This book had plenty of twists and turns in the plot to keep things very interesting and Venus and Connor themselves keep the reader glued to the page. A perfect novel for when its pouring outside and you just want to curl up on the couch with a great book.

Book Review: Interrupted by Rachel Coker

  • Hardcover: 320 pages
  • Publisher: Zondervan (1 Mar 2012)
  • Language English
  • ISBN-10: 0310729734
  • ISBN-13: 978-0310729730
  • Can love really heal all things? If Sam Carroll hadn't shown up, she might have been able to get to her mother in time. Instead, Allie Everly finds herself at a funeral, mourning the loss of her beloved mother. She is dealt another blow when, a few hours later, she is sent from Tennessee to Maine to become the daughter of Miss Beatrice Lovell, a prim woman with a faith Allie cannot accept. Poetry and letters written to her mother become the only things keeping Allie's heart from hardening completely. But then Sam arrives for the summer, and with him comes many confusing emotions, both toward him and the people around her. As World War II looms, Allie will be forced to decide whether hanging on to the past is worth losing her chance to be loved.

Allie’s life changes the instant her mother dies. Ripped out of the only home she has known and placed in a town where she doesn’t know anyone, it takes the poetry of Emily Dickinson to keep Allie from completely turning herself to stone.

But then a childhood friend appears and things stir in Allie that she had no idea existed. As World War II looms in the distance, Allie must try to get past her fears before it is too late to do anything about them.

Interrupted is a Christian historical fiction with a romantic edge. I really struggled to get into this one. It wasn’t just because of Allie’s surly character, I’ve read plenty of books with grumpy protagonists but Allie really took the biscuit. At times she was cruel and uncaring how she talked to people. After a while it really grated on my nerves.

While I am sure there are plenty of other people who would love this book it wasn’t for me.
